Nightclub do's and don'ts

We all need a little help sometimes, even when it comes to composing our perfect outfit for the club. Whether your a guy or a lady, this blog is meant to be used as a guide. With a little help from Club Planet, here are the things that will get you noticed, and of course the no no's of the nightlife.

1. Clothes:
Ladies DO show skin. DON'T show all your "goodies," you don't want to give anyone the wrong impression. A tasteful dress or a pair of shorts that acentuates your best assests. Ladies dresses are the easiest, cheapest, and fasest choice. DON'T be afraid to stand out in leopard or zebra prints (Forever 21), and DO wear undies nobody needs a "Britney" moment.
Guys DO where button-down shirts or collard. This just looks better then shorts or the common basketball jersey. DON'T wear anything that looks like your little sister bedazzled it, this is not the Jersey Shore; you will get laughed at.

2. Shoes:
Ladies sky high heels are a MUST! But DON'T wear stripper heels, I'm sure they hurt and unless you're stripper you could break an ankle. Finding heels that are comfortable yet stylish can be a little hard, but places like Traffic Shoes can get you great heels at a good prices!
Guys Do wear dress shoes, nothing that looks like you belong in a wedding though. DON'T break out the sneakers, yes Jordans are fashionable, but not at a nightclub.

3. Make-up (Ladies):
YES of course make-up is a MUST!! A classic look or smokey eyes can totally draw more attention to you. Ladies DON'T pile the make-up, on the last thing you want to do is look like a birthday cake; even worse here in South Florida the humidity can assist in the melting of your face. DO wear water-proof eyeliner and mascara this will help when you start showing off your dance moves.

4. Purses:
The finishing touches for a night out--Gentlemen DO bring money, there's nothing cute about flirting with a pretty girl and you can't buy her a drink.
Ladies DON'T bring a purse that holds your entire life, it's acceptable when your running around being the busy female you are; but at a night club it just looks bad. Once at the club your going to want to walk around and dance a huge bag won't give you space. DO bring a clutch or a wristlet, something big enough for cash, credit cards, and  lipgloss. Remember girls just because we will get a guy to buy us a drink, doesn't mean you should look like your helpless. Coach wristlet $48-$98.

iL Bacio, Downtown Delray Beach

Venturing up north to Delray Beach will sure bring a smile to all those party-goers who can enjoy a good time, in just a few hours. The strip on Atlantic Avenue host some of the hottest scenes in Delray such as Delux (previous blog); and Delray’s best kept secret il Bacio. Winning a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

iL Bacio is a combination of indoor and outdoor fun. The inside is a smaller area with a dance floor, one bar, and a DJ booth. The outside equipped with a large stage, two bars, and a huge dance floor.

Live Bands Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6-10 High Energy DJs Wed-Sun 10-2.
A happy scene where older meets younger, a gentle mix of college students and middle aged people gather in this restaurant that turns into one large dance floor.

“After 11pm the music really got jamming and the tunes were awesome for the rest of the night. The DJ really knew his stuff!”- YELP

Fun. Energetic. Lively. Dancing. Drinks.-All to what can describe a night at iL Bacio. The downside? $10 for the ladies and $15 for the gents to get through the door. The drinks are some-what overpriced and sometimes can feel like there isn’t enough alcohol. iL Bacio is a place you save up to go, although $40 can guarantee a good time.
It for sure isn’t a place you visit weekly!

Delux Nightclub, Oh what a Night in Delray Beach!

If an intimate club with an outside patio is your scene, then Delux Nightclub is the place for you!
Located just a little north of Boca Raton in Delray Beach, Delux is on Atlantic Avenue in the midsts of other bars and restaurants that turn into party scenes. One room, one DJ, and one bar.

LOVE:
Music, atomosphere, people, ample dance floor, cheap cocktails, and the party starts early!

HATE:
Long waits for cocktails, bathrooms, and a $10 cover charge.

Ending the party at around 1:45 am, the DJ gives last call and pretty much shuts off the music. BOO!

So unlike most clubs located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Delux provides a change of pace and scene.
On the plus side weekends provide an even more of an escape in the outside patio of Delux.-10 Best

Well Wishing at Wishing Well Irish Pub, Boca Raton!

An Irish Pub in the heart of Boca Raton, the Wishing Well is a great place to drink a few brewskis and listen to the live band on the weekends. A quaint little place with some of the best 25-year olds enjoying each-other's company.

Not much to say about this small spot, except for it hits the spot!
  • Just the place for an after-work drink.
  • Meet some friends.
  • Grab a quick bite.
  • Or lay back and enjoy the live band, and the atomosphere of the Irish!

"Awesome Irish pub in boca raton with darts, pool and live music. Staff is great and the beer selection is even better."-New Times

A tiny hole in the wall bar-Nippers, Boca Raton

Nippers is the only bar in Boca Raton that stays open past two in the morning.
But staying open late doesn't always have its perks. Nippers is a tiny bar on the northern side of Military Trail in Boca. Once inside there's a pool table to right and about six or seven tables to the left. The bar isn't very big, in fact it might be the smallest one I have ever seen. More than likely college students can be loitering this place after all the happening bars in Fort Lauderdale close.

The local drunks might be the biggest turn off, having them spill their drinks and drool over you really doesn't help out the bars rep.

They serve food late too. The usual wings, chicken fingers, and mozzarella sticks. I would much rather go to Denny's. But if your looking for more drinks and a little pool playing after a fun-filled night in Downtown, then Nippers is for you!

Hours:
Monday - Friday
4:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Saturday-Sunday
9:00 PM - 5:00 AM

Porterhouse Bar & Grill

Ah the sickly sight of sunrise creeps up on any regualr Joe looking for a late night or should I say early morning drink.

“If you like bad service and rudeness then you will like this place!”-Trip Advisor

Now, there's no direct link to Porterhouse they don't exactly have a website can't imagne why?
This is the spot to be at about 4:30am, when Fort Lauderdale nightclubs have kicked you to the curb. Oh why does drinking and dancing like a maniac inspire college students to eat or better yet continue the party here; nobody knows. I know for fact: I'm guilty.

Everyone from your dance partner earlier in the evening to your mom's friend can be found loitering the bar for cheap drinks and finger foods. The mozzarella sticks are to die for! The bartender is always willing to make you a drink no matter how late, and the music yea that's good too if you can still manage to hear it. Usually by 5am most drunk college students are tone deaf. Anywho, overall it beats Denny's for that craving you can no longer fight after the club.

Menu: Apps from $5
Drinks from $7
Cheap, cheap, cheap
*The servers usually don't care past a certain point in the night, and mostly they barely make a buck. It's hard to spend more than $20 here, unless your paying for the whole table.*
